Public Design Workshop 26.11.16

On Saturday 26th November 2016 we held a public design workshop with Sunshine International Arts to help get local people’s ideas for the artwork that will go on the Green Man Skills Zone building.

We displayed a number of mood boards for some of the other public realm improvements in order to get feedback. You can see all of the boards here.

We had a brilliant turnout with a mix of 42 adults and children attending to take part in the activity and provide feedback on the ideas we had.

Using a range of shiny implements, people had the opportunity to design their own shimmer walls.

Popular ideas included referencing nature, the myth of the green man, the idea of community and some kind of optical illusion. Check out all these brilliant designs.

What a great afternoon! We will now take these ideas and the feedback we have received to produce a design for the shimmer wall. Our final design will capture the essence of local people’s ideas and work with these unique materials to produce something awesome for the community to be proud of!
